Stephanie Schroeder
Benefits Advocate
Stephanie Schroeder has served as a Benefits Advocate on our Older Adult Centers team since 2022. Stephanie first joined the Neighborhood House in 2017 as a Peer Advocate in our Women’s Mental Health Shelter and also served as a Housing Specialist at our shelter. Prior to joining us, Stephanie worked as a Peer Counselor at ACMH and also in public relations as an Account Supervisor and Consultant. Stephanie is a widely published journalist and is the co-editor of the anthology, HEADCASE: LGBTQ Writers & Artists on Mental Health and Wellness, published by Oxford University Press. Stephanie has contributed to The Guardian, Lambda Literary Review, Brooklyn Magazine and The Advocate. Stephanie is a graduate of New York Law School (JD) and Hunter College (BA, Communications) and is a New York State Certified Peer Specialist.
