130 Stories of Joy, Impact and Community in Celebration of Our 130th Anniversary!
Founded in 1894 as a free kindergarten for immigrant families, the core of our work has not changed in our 130-year history. We still educate children, feed hungry New Yorkers, advocate for our neighbors, fight against housing insecurity and provide critical, comprehensive services to thousands in need.
Within this essential work are countless stories of joy, hope, resilience and community. As part of the year-long celebrations of our 130th anniversary, we are proud to share 130 stories—a cross-section of the thousands of lives transformed by our work.
