130 Stories of Joy, Impact and Community in Celebration of Our 130th Anniversary!

Founded in 1894 as a free kindergarten for immigrant families, the core of our work has not changed in our 130-year history. We still educate children, feed hungry New Yorkers, advocate for our neighbors, fight against housing insecurity and provide critical, comprehensive services to thousands in need.
