Jake Newman

Director of Adult Education

Jake has served as Director of Adult Education since 2024, after originally joining the Neighborhood House as a Technology Education Coordinator in 2022. Prior to joining us, Jake served as an English Language Arts and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Instructor at Strong City Baltimore Adult Learning Center. In that role, Jake also developed a professional development curriculum on digital literacy that he presented at the Maryland Department of Labor Virtual Training Institute in 2021. Jake has also worked as a Fairness and Bias Reviewer for the Duolingo English Test and interned at Doctors Without Borders. Jake is a graduate of Goucher College (BA, Chinese Studies) and is fluent in Chinese and Spanish.
