Melissa Flanagan, Director of our Women’s Mental Health Shelter at the Park Avenue Armory—and one of the front-line heroes of our COVID-19 response—is the centerpiece of this video, produced by Bloomberg Philanthropies, as part of the NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund’s effort to announce their significant emergency support of New York nonprofits.

Melissa shares some of the struggles that the women at our Shelter face on a daily basis, which are now magnified during this crisis. Melissa and our team at the Shelter work 24/7 to maintain the health, mental health, safety and comfort for our 80 clients, women ranging in age from 45–84. As Melissa affirms, “this is the time to come together and do what we can to support everyone in the city right now.”
